What It's REALLY Like to Record in The Mars Volta's Studio
Sep 25, 2025
Nick DiSalvo of Elder shares an incredible story from the recording sessions for their album "Innate Passage." The studio in Hamburg, Germany, is a live-in compound co-financed by the one and only Omar Rodríguez-López of The Mars Volta.
Nick tells the surreal story of hearing music late at night, only to go upstairs and find Omar casually jamming at 1:00 in the morning. This is a true behind-the-scenes look at the making of a modern prog masterpiece.
